wishlists

Had our annual 'wishlist drawing lots day' on Monday, 22nd November. This was introduced 2 years ago by me. Main reason being that instead of buying gifts that each of us think the other person will use, might as well buy a gift that we know for sure the other person will definitely be using! It's practical and as the giver, we know for sure that the receiver is happy! Another perspective is that thru this 'wishlist' system, i got to know hueyling, sylvia and yiling more. Their likes and dislikes can be interpreted,to a certain extent, by the type of gifts they want. Of course, not totally! this is not a crystal ball (by the way, i do not believe in the existence and reliability of that ball thing...=P ) For example, last year, our dear Hueyling wanted a gingerbread-man patterned lingerie set, it's so cute. I was like amazed that she goes for this type of lingerie..i though she belonged to the 'lacy and sexy' kind..hahha (i can feel the cold look from her now! muahahahah!!!)

This year, i had to crack my head real hard for my wishlist items. But as soon as I got engrossed in it, the items just flow on baby! haha. think i have so many items now that i lost count.hee...just pure indulgence! As we draw lots on Monday (while having yummy dinner at Crystal Jade's 'Xiao Long Bao'..i absolutely lurve that place!!), i cannot help but think that the year is coming to an end soon. Every year, as we (the four of us) meet for our annual Christmas gathering, it is a reflection that the year is going to end soon. Anyway, some of the wishlists items I drew are somehow...'interesting'...perhaps 'interesting' is too simple a word.hmmm..*scratches head*..sighz...'interesting' is the word..haha. Will buy them very soon, once I get my pay!! cannot wait for my pay to come. This year, the wishlist items are relatively easier..compared to last year! (HL, if you are reading this blog..i got a hard time buying your 'nei zai mei' =P)

Alright, a few more days to go before I depart for Seoul for my annual leave...=D *perhaps can get inspirations from Seoul for my new wishlist items!!* *evil laughter*

back in action

oh yes..finally i am back to blogging.this is the first time this week, i am able to sit down and blog. had such a busy week, was almost doing OT daily. too many enquiries..basically parents chasing us for next year's schedules. some 'all too familiar' sentences will be like, "why you have not called me?!' 'i have told you my preferences so long ago yet i do not get my class!' 'so and so promised to call me but she/he didn't!' 'when can i make payment? 'why didn't i receive any schedules this year?'..etc etc...well...just to say that there is a system to work ard it...anyway, i did not finish work today.I was really yearning to go home, to have a nice dinner and watch TV (finally!! can watch tv w/o thinking of work) and just simply be in my room. you know what i mean..*wide grins*

9 more days to go before i go for my long long awaited break! looking forward to it! my first trip w/o parents *evil laughter* haha..ok, i can feel my eyes closing liao.better stop before i write funny stuff or uncomprehensible words..

all that glitters....

are clothes from WAREHOUSE! i absolutely love their current collection now. SO glam! i mean there are some pieces that are 'too bling bling'. but generally, this season's clothes are Indian-inspired with sequins and more sequins!! eyed at a few pieces already..but but..they are so expensive! on average, they are priced at ard $100 per piece! gosh! to me,warehouse is like an 'up market Topshop'. their designs are quite similar but Warehouse commands more bucks. so far, i only bought a halter from Warehouse (when they were having their mid-season sale)..that's all..hmm..maybe one of my wishlist items shd be a voucher from Warehouse?? any takers?

sunlight after the rain

had an hour chat with him. I smsed to ask him about his new job and how he is coping. Did not expect a call at such a late time as he sleeps early. glad that I no longer feel disturbed when i talk to him.things have gotten back to almost-normal. But i have to admit that the intimacy we once shared can no longer be present.perhaps the problem lies with me..I am glad that we are still friends, just friends. he is happily attached now to a teacher and i can tell that he is really blessed in this current relationship. as for me, talking to him face-to-face still holds inhibition. still need time. Good news is that the sour feeling that i have during the past few mths of agony, pain and tears has gone! amen. i am so thankful that Abba Father carried me through those times. I am so glad that I confessed. Many people think that i am selfish, but no matter what, i still stick to my decision. and i am glad that I did it. the consequences that came with the action was not as disastrous as i expected to be. my take is that if our friendship is going to be eternally-broken because of my confession, then i think he is immature. surprisingly, he took it with his stride. perhaps, the confession was done via sms, hence the i could not really see his facial expressions.

there were times in church where he tried to talk to me or chat. but somehow, i avoided or simply just chat for less than 3 mins. partly coz face-face conversations still makes me feel slightly uneasy.hmm..need more time. glad that it is sunshine after the rain.

let's say if we are together,hmm...our lifestyles will conflict. as what some of my friends say, i am quite 'high maintenance' (haha..which i beg to differ!!!!!! *nodding in agreement*).maybe that's why i am still a swinging single. our outlooks in life are different esp in terms of work. a few mths back, i prayed, telling God that if it is not His will that we are together, take those thoughts away. God really intervenes at the right place, right time.

meterosexuals=gays??

many people have this misconception that meterosexuals=gays or gays=meterosexuals..hmm..i disagree to a certain extent. well, perhaps because we are not used to men dressing up in psychedelic colours or going for facials or spas. i mean our social construction of identities of men are that they have to be 'macho, dress like 'men', cannot be dressy' etc etc. the presence of meterosexuals challanges our conventional thoughts and somehow destablise our notions abt gender. take for example the onscreen character of 'xie shaoguang' in the mega drama serial 'Holland Village'.He is somehow a meterosexual but he is not a gay!! (he pursued his onscreen love interest like crazy). But majority of us cannot accept his hand gestures, the way he talks, the way he behaves etc etc. weird..but well, for me, i still,to a certain extent, unable to accept such 'womanly' actions from a man.BUT i am totally fine with a guy dressing up,going for facials, trimming eyebrows etc but of coz not to the pt whereby it becomes an obsession!!

I think a guy needs to dress up sometimes, more than 'T-shirts and berms or T-shirts and jeans'.there is nothing wrong with that, but exploring a wild taste for clothes can be really adventurous and gratifying too!! hehe. i think Zara provides really cool and gorgeous clothes for men..a good mix of corporate, smart casual and sporty wear. another one wld be Topshop. this somehow reveals my taste of men yah..haha. i mean the visible appearances of a person isn't everything,of course. but let's admit it...true as it sounds a cliche...the phrase 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder' is valid!

alright, back to meterosexuals.recently, this has been a buzz word in the lifestyle and fashion word..seems like there is a sudden wave of meterosexuals.Personally,i think that this grp of people have already existed long time ago (think abt the 1960s).just that the media zoomed in recently to focus on this 'special' rp of people. a 'men revolution' perhaps? look at local celebs such as Tay Ping Hui and Adrian Pang endorsing Expressions and FIL Skin and Body Care respectively. or perhaps overseas celebs such as David Beckham,Brad Pitt,Heath Ledger etc who are gracing the big time fashion houses and men fashion mags in recent years...celebrating the arrival of 'new men' aka men who dresses,go for skincare treatment, having diamonds as best friends etc etc...interesting huh?

some of my friends say that i have very high expectations of men..haha..depends...i mean attraction comes in a mix of visible and invisible qualities yah.hehe

000..btw i think the brand,RAOUL, has fabulous,clean-cut clothes for men corporate wear...hehe

the race is over and.....

BUSH WON! damn it...ok,i dun really detest him but i just disagree the way he handled the Iraq War,the way he and his administration led *almost* the whole world into believing that the war was justified...fine..he did have his plus pts..but but...if I am an American, he does not represent my concerns and needs. as for Kerry, i do not really know him much except snippets of his life story and his areas of concern for this presidential race. i still prefer good young (and charming) Bill Clinton, the ex-President. Well, even though the Lewinsky incident did somehow negate his reputation, I wld say that under his administration, US was faring much better with rising economic success. But well, 9/11 did not happen during his term..just wondering how wld he have handled if 9/11 happened when he was the President? hmm...a pt to ponder..

now, let's just see how the 'new' Bush administration will get America out the current mess. i think they shd look closely at their foreign policies..esp with the Middle East and Asia. Somehow or rather, they seemed to be 'killing themselves' in the way they handle the China-Taiwan issues, re-building of Iraq and the Israel-Palestinian conflicts. More so, their domestic problems are still present..check out their employment rate, tax issues and the greenback..oo..and the recent corporate scandals too (for eg: Enron)..Terrorism cannot be eliminated but it can be controlled. Just like poverty..how can we eliminate poverty?? but we can help to diminish it..talking abt 9/11..i really admire the way the ex-mayor, Rudy Giullani handled the aftermath..great leadership skills..hmm..maybe i shd buy his book...

wonder what's next for US after this much anticipated (check out the overwhelming number of voters this year!!) and fiercely fought presidential race. the Bush administration better deliver what they promised (of coz not 100% of it..since when politicians and/or political leaders deliver 100% of what they say during the campaign?? )..the world is watching

Hen's Night at Devils!

that was like on Sat,30th October. The first hen's night that I attended and boy! it was loaded with FUN FUN FUN! those ridiculous and naughty games that our bride-to-be Sandy had to play..haha..i really think she is 'zai' *thumbs up*. I mean she's so sporting to play the games even though some were really embarrassing. yet no complains from her..she just played along with so much energy! that night she really 'zuan' as in those cuties whom she danced on stage with..wah..check out those abs when they took off their shirts!! haha..practically all the girls including me (hey i am being honest!!) went crazy *almost*. one of my colleagues actually had the thought of touching them!! ahaha..that is so..oo lala..hahhahahah

to me, the music was alright..but not really my type...maybe coz it was a live band playing..hence the music was lacklustre. also..the crowd was old..as in quite alot of 'old bengs'..no eye candy..sad. the men there were watching soccer!! what the.....i mean pls loh...going to a club to watch soccer...sad case. it was man u versus some other football club..well..it's the devil's bar mah..people watch soccer is normal but i was just nvm..*rolls eyes* i prefer dbl o and siam supperclub..more nice looking men and better music!

and oh!! there was this old beng..think a Thai who was like clinging on our grp of girls..like trying to join us. what happened was that my colleagues picked him to play a game..but we did not expect him to 'leech' to us after the game..gosh!! he was like trying to chat with some of the girls in our grp..dance so damn close to a few of us...i was like 'what the...' find him so IRRITATING! and apparently he got high coz he was like smiling to himself etc..ew...

anyway, dun wanna waste time talking abt him...just makes me feel sick. i really enjoyed myself that day....becoz of the company i had..TLL's girls are so happening! unbelievable! i wld not minf attending another hen's night again! one thing i learn from this experience is: NEVER tell TLL that you are getting married otherwise sure sabo like crazy...hahhahahaha...*winks*
