the itch is back
With the massive paycut, I can't afford to go for drinks as often as I used to when I was earning relatively good money.Damn. When the night comes, esp on Wed and Thurs, I feel like having a Black Russian or simply a lychee martini at my favourite hangout place, Ink Bar in The Plaza Hotel. Miss the ambience, the UNISEX washroom (I have encountered several interesting happenings there,haha) and oo..the BLACK RUSSIAN. Simply the best! Concentrated and full of flavour. Not some diluted drink that I can do myself.Bought a copy of 8 Days last week, and coincidentally it came with a nightlife supplement entitled 'Night Out'. Cool! I lurvvvvvvveeeeeeeed the first edition.I did not know that there are so many water holes in Singapore! Some of them, as claimed by 8 Days, have jazzy furnishings and fantastic music. Well, I have learnt my lesson of reading any sort of reviews with a pinch of salt. I still think that Siam Supperclub is OVER-HYPED, that goes for Attica.Been to both and I didn't really like it. FULL OF SPGs esp the Siam one. As for Attica, I would say well-planned pricing methods. The music is only so-so. I do love the hip hop music though. One thing that pissed me and my ex-colleagues off were the rowdy Caucasians.Simply pushed through the crowd with their glasses above your head!Is saying 'excuse me?' a big chore for them?! I wonder. Or maybe they are making their presence felt.I mean come on, you think you're an angmoh so what?! I am fine with angmohs, some are really down to earth and nice.Those black sheep are simply ROWDY,ANNOYING and IRRITATING.
Do I have a drinking problem? Nah..no worries. I do not get withdrawal symptoms. I can still function well and think straight. Getting people to go clubbing is real hard these days for many reasons:
- Busy with work (totally understand)
- Ew...dun want lah. Smoky place (yet still go clubbing with colleagues and other friends!)
- Must have guys then can go (Oh pls, we are going as a GROUP of girls!)
- Need to ask bf for permission (that I can understand)
- Expensive (Hey! That's why people come up with 'Ladies Night'! Duh!)
- Must ask parents (I have differing views on this)
Anyway, going for drinks next Thursday.Venue: Post Bar at Fullerton Hotel. I am really keen to visit this place called 'The Balcony' at The Heeren Building.Visited the website, not bad.
By the way, the event that I am doing allows me to go for the opening party in Indochine's Forbidden City! (Beside Attica). My conference producer 'encouraged' me to go,haha. I am hesitant leh...partly coz the attendees will be the media industry people and I do not know them..awkward lah. But but..I am so 'gian' to go! Heard good things about the place and usually it's the IT place for parties of events and conferences etc. Damn.
