*blank*

Walking aimlessly along the streets,
Cutting throught the crowds,
Everyone looks the same.
Bangs ans straightening.
Tees and jeans
Tank tops and mini skirts
Over-sized t-shirts over baggy pants
Powdered faces versus plain janes
Meterosexuals juxtaposed against eau de naturals

Whispers and chatters
Stares and glances
Where do I belong in this oh-so-real world?
We are just actors, playing our roles on this big-stage we call 'world'
Scripts thrown into our faces
Not a need for memorization
Some actions have been internalised
While others are taught by fellow actors in our lives
Social supervision - a cage that we are contained in

Being 'different' is like breaking away
Going against the flow
Being the 'other', against the norm
Does that entail a heavy punishment?
By law and/or the 'reward/punish system' by the society?
